As part of the Etihad Design Consortium (EDC), Acumen Design Associates were responsible for all on-board seating design for the new Etihad Airbus A380 airliner, including the three-room VIP suite ‘The Residence by Etihad’, the First Class ‘First Apartments’ and the ‘Business Studio’.
Ian Dryburgh, CEO and Founder of Acumen Design Associates, comments: “With the introduction of these class-leading products Etihad Airways can justifiably claim to be the best airline in the world. This level of innovation has been driven by Etihad’s desire to delight and surprise their guests.
“The cabin design incorporates several world firsts and provides unprecedented personal space enabling a new level of privacy, luxury and relaxation on a commercial aircraft that will set the standard for air travel in the future.
“Winning The International Yacht and Aviation Awards is a huge compliment to the project’s planning and execution and demonstrate the value that design thinking can bring to differentiate a global brand.”
