Following extensive wind-tunnel testing and development trials, Acumen raced their soapbox at the world famous Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2002. In front of an audience of 140,000 and up against a bluechip field of automotive companies, Acumen achieved 2nd place as runners up to McClaren with a maximum speed of 57mph.
Acumen’s leader board success achieved national press in T3 magazine, Motorsports Now, Design Week, and Aircraft Interiors magazine among others.
After their success at Goodward, later in the year Acumen’s ‘Coolbox’ competed at the Prescott Hill Climb, again coming 2nd. Not bad for a car straight out the box!
