Design-lead and co-inventor of the flagship Etihad A380 first class cabin, inventor of the Britax baby-safe sleeper and driving force behind the market-leading work in-process with UTC Interiors. Anthony joined Acumen in 2005 progressing to Associate level in 2010 in recognition of his exceptional creative talent, detail design development experience and ability to consistently deliver innovative commercially successful solutions on time and on budget.
As a graduate of Industrial Design Anthony began his career working for Hodges and Drake Design in 2000 working as a mainstream product designer involved in all aspects of design through to full scale production. The professional skills he developed particularly in terms of team management and manufacturing liaison have been of particular relevance to his work with Acumen.
Anthony has developed a proven track record of exceeding customer expectations by taking an empirical approach to a creative brief and generating highly original solutions which have often been patentable. For example, his award winning work for Britax Childcare has re-defined the lay-flat infant carry-cot market and achieved best-in-class safety performance. Similarly on multiple occasions Anthony’s in-depth knowledge of the airline industry particularly in terms of certification and practical production knowledge has delivered class leading solutions for the likes of UTAS (formerly Goodrich), Etihad (A380), Delta Airlines , American Airlines and Jet Airways. Anthony has been a named inventor on several of the above programme patents.
Perhaps Anthony’s greatest strength lies in an ability to take a ‘visionary’ approach to generating a Design Strategy matched by a pragmatic grasp of how far to take a ‘Blue Sky’ concept in the context of realistic timelines ,consumer aspirations and manufacturing realities.
