Mike’s career started at British Airways in 1991 soon after graduating from the Royal College of Art with a postgraduate degree in Design Management. At British Airways he championed the discipline of product design which led to the pioneering design of flatbed innovations in First Class where he worked with Acumen in 1995. He also led the design of the flat bed revolution in Business Class in 2000.
As his career in the airline developed, he became Head of Design Management – where his team were responsible for managing all design and branding programmes across the airline. He left his client role in 2006 to become a partner of Honour Branding – a Brand Experience consultancy. There he worked collaboratively with other agencies to deliver the ‘Remarkable’ onboard experience for Etihad’s A380 & B787 aircraft. In 2015 he went solo to create Honour Consulting and deepen his collaboration with Acumen, working on projects with ANA, JetBlue and Adient. In 2019 Mike officially joined Acumen as Brand Experience Director – bringing his strategic branding and design expertise to the team.
