Acumen Design Associates has been recognised by The Crystal Cabin Awards as winner of the 2015 Premium Class and VIP category for its design work on Etihad Airways’ ‘The Residence by Etihad’, ‘First Apartments’ and ‘Business Studios’.
The Crystal Cabin Awards recognises international excellence in aircraft interior innovation, annually rewarding outstanding cabin products and concepts during the Aircraft Interiors trade fair in Hamburg.
Award entries are judged on the qualities of the designs with a particular focus on improvements in passenger comfort. Award winners are globally recognised as the leading companies in aircraft design.
As part of the Etihad Design Consortium (EDC), Acumen Design Associates were responsible for on-board seating design including the three-room VIP suite ‘The Residence by Etihad’, the First Class ‘First Apartments’ and the Business Studio for the new Etihad Airbus A380 airliner.
This project has been a rare opportunity to demonstrate how disruptive design can create game-changing interiors which will no doubt elevate passenger expectations of premium class interiors. The Crystal Cabin Award Association is one of the leading aircraft interior design authorities in the world. Being recognised by this award for the success of the new Etihad Premium Class and VIP cabins demonstrates that Etihad is realising its ambition to be the best airline in the world.
